Sounds Of Summer - The Very Best Of The Beach Boys
By The Beach Boys

Here I am in Panama City Beach, Florida, on Spring Break! I am with Andrew & Aaron, Andrew's friend, Donovan, and Cindy Riggins brought Julie and Taylor. We rented the bottom floor of a beach house just across the street from the gulf. We are on the north end in Laguna Beach where it is quiet and very uncrowded! We are having a great time and I thought I would post some pictures. I has been a little cool, but now it is warming up. We enjoyed a day on the beach today. Julie and Taylor enjoyed parasailing. The older boys enjoyed renting scooters for the evening.

Every night has been a beautiful sunset. When it starts to go down, you see tourists heading to the beach with their cameras to "enjoy the show." Tonight we went to the pier and took pictures. I haven't put them on my computer yet. I am making a movie of our trip. We are having a great time and don't want to go home!

Is six months too long without an update? Yes, I think so, too. I wanted to share some pictures from the Winter Men's Study in Bloomfield. We made sure the men were fed and well hydrated so they could concentrate on their studies. The benefits of this will be felt for many months to come. Most of these were taken during the supper hour and during New Year's Eve (a few taken by some of the guys during study time)

While the boys and I were at camp, Alvin said a doe laid down in the yard and he felt she would probably not get up. Sure enough, the next morning she had died. He had to drag her away and then look what came visiting with no mother:

Ahhh, you say. That's what we say every time we see them. We had a wiener roast/Bible study Saturday night and during it, people were looking toward the woods and pointing. Sure enough, there they were. I finally had camera in hand tonight to get a picture of them.

We also have a new addition at our house:

I was visiting my parents and we heard the most awful "MEOW!" Up the driveway came this little guy. Mom said let dad take care of it ~ so I brought him home. I figured he wouldn't stay, we were leaving for camp and if he was gone when I got home, I wouldn't worry about him. NOPE, he's still here and we're enjoying the antics of a kitten again. The name debate has been:  Smokie (my choice); Bootsie (Aaron) and Leonidis (Andrew, he says it means brave warrior). My older kitties don't think too highly of him, though. Hey, curleycountertop, do you still have that cat food? LOL

Back from camp. Better than ever. We are always so spiritually energized when we get back.

Here is a link for my pictures.

Just a quick update as we head off to camp. Summer is in full swing at our house, as I am sure it is at yours. We have had a jump start marching band camp for Aaron, now Basketball camp is going on and then marching band camp starts Wednesday. Andrew is busy with summer school getting classes out of the way for his senior year. We finished our VBS with Doug Twaddell and of course enjoyed every minute of it. It has been terribly dry here like every where else, but this weekend we had almost three inches of rain, so maybe we are back on track. We have a field full of Indian and Ear Corn that the guys have planted again with garden tractors. I have been enjoying many hours in the flower gardens. We have taken in a couple of antique shows, the last being last weekend in Martinsville where we could visit family and many old acquaintances. Aaron and I look forward to seeing many of you at the campout next week. We will pray for good (cooler) weather and profitable studies.
